Biography

Jake Lease brings over 13 years of event planning experience as the Event Manager for the Dallas Sports Commission. A graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology, he relocated to Dallas after seven years at USA Karate, the National Governing Body for Karate with the US Olympic Committee. He spent his time at USA Karate as the Director of Events, as well as serving as Interim Chief Executive Officer for two years. While there, he grew participation in USA Karate Signature Events by over 200% with a focus on customer experience, event quality enhancement, and utilizing technology to improve quality and efficiency.

His event resume includes being the director of over 40 regional, national, and international events. He served as the Operations Director for the Rocky Mountain State Games from 2010-2013 and has consulted for various events throughout the United States and Central & South America. During the 2014 NCAA Men's Final Four, Lease worked as part of the Volunteer Committee and oversaw the Welcome Desk Program that provided city and event information at Dallas' airports, hotels, and key venues. Lease's goal at the Dallas Sports Commission is to use his experience from the planning and execution side of events to ensure that every client has the resources and tools necessary to execute the most successful event possible.
