Brad Ramsey is Senior Vice President and Head of Sports Rights for TEGNA Inc. (NYSE: TGNA). Under his leadership, TEGNA has executed 15 broadcast sports rights agreements in the past two years, and in 2025 TEGNA became the first broadcaster in the modern distribution era to hold full-season team rights across each of the NBA, WNBA, NHL, and MLB. Brad also oversees syndicated programming across TEGNA’s 51 U.S. markets and serves as TEGNA’s representative on the ABC Television Affiliate Board of Governors, where he chairs the network news committee.
An Emmy Award-winning executive, Brad previously served as president and general manager of Dallas-Fort Worth ABC affiliate WFAA. During his seven-year tenure, WFAA earned 17 of journalism’s most prestigious national honors, including multiple National Edward R. Murrow Awards – most recently for Overall Excellence in 2023 – the 2022 NAB Service to America Award, a 2021 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award, and five NPPA Station of the Year honors between 2018 and 2024.
Brad is in his second stint with TEGNA, having earlier served as vice president of sales for the company’s local media outlets across the U.S. and as president/GM of the ABC affiliate in Norfolk, Virginia. Between TEGNA roles, he was global CRO at Boats Group (boats.com), where he led a transformation of the international sales force serving customers in over 100 countries. He began his career with Gray Television, working his way up from sports reporter to general manager over a 12-year span.
