Chief Operating Officer of StarCenter Properties, Dallas Stars
Dan Stuchal rejoined the Dallas Stars organization in May 2013 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of StarCenter Properties, a division of the Dallas Stars Hockey Club. In this role, he oversees all StarCenter and StarCenter Multisport facilities within the organization’s portfolio.
Including the newest StarCenter Multisport facility, which opened in Northlake, TX, in spring 2026, StarCenter Properties operates 11 facilities across the DFW area. Together, they feature 18 NHL-regulation ice sheets; 39 volleyball courts convertible to 20 basketball courts; and eight pickleball courts.
Stuchal leads all operational aspects of these facilities, which serve more than 90,000 active participants and welcome approximately 9.5 million visitors each year. The Stars’ investment in multisport properties represents the next step in the StarCenter’s evolution—expanding beyond its core ice-sports customer base to deliver world-class court-sport facilities for athletes across the Metroplex.
Previous to this role, Stuchal served as Chief Communications Officer, Senior Vice President of Marketing, and Vice President of Business Development for the Dallas Stars. Across these roles, he led communications and brand management initiatives, including in-game entertainment, special events, graphic design, digital content, advertising, and merchandise.
Stuchal made his return to professional sports in 2013 after nine years in nonprofit leadership with Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star, where he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Before his nonprofit career, Stuchal spent 13 years in the National Hockey League, most recently as Assistant General Manager of the Calgary Flames Hockey Club (2000–2003). During this time, he served as Alternate Governor for the team’s minor-league affiliate and was responsible for player contract research and negotiation, hockey-department budgeting and financial oversight, league scheduling, and professional and amateur scouting assignments.
Earlier in his career, Stuchal spent 10 years with the Dallas Stars organization and was part of the 1999 Stanley Cup Champion team. An original member of the Minnesota North Stars prior to the franchise’s move to Texas, he began in 1990 and held roles including Assistant Director of Communications, Assistant to the Hockey Department, Director of Team Services, and Director of Hockey Administration.
Stuchal graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1991 with a B.A. in Mass Communications. He lives in Coppell, TX, with his wife, Shauna, and has two daughters, Talia and Sydney.
