The 2017 BMW Dallas Marathon race course highlights iconic Dallas landmarks and is recognized as the official marathon of the city of Dallas. The marathon is a Boston qualifying race. Since naming a primary beneficiary in 1997, the BMW Dallas Marathon has donated more than $3.5 million to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

5k/10k/Marathon Start/Finish Line: The BMW Dallas Marathon begins and ends in Downtown Dallas at the corner of Young St. and Akard St. (Dallas City Hall Plaza). The races are scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 9 and Sunday, December 10, 2017.

This event is expected to draw large crowds and will have an impact on Downtown Dallas traffic and parking. Please allow plenty of time for travel as streets near the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD) will be affected.   

Please be aware that you may have both driving and walking delays/detours depending on the time you are traveling to and from KBHCCD, suggested routes are below.

Driving from outside of Downtown use I-35E to I-30 East, Exit South Lamar Street and turn right.



Crowne Plaza Dallas Downtown Hotel  –  South on Griffin Street 6 blocks to KBHCCD

Hyatt Regency Dallas – East on Reunion Blvd to Young Street, then South on Lamar Street   

Omni Dallas Hotel  –  Use connector inside Omni Dallas hotel to Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD)

Lorenzo Hotel – North on Akard to Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD)



Spectators and Competitors can easily commute to Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas via DART Rail ($5.00).

  • from the North, using the Green Line
  • from Irving, using the Orange Line
  • from the South, using the Red, Blue, or Green Lines

Station closest to Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention: Convention Center Station

  • Please make sure to read all parking signs to avoid being towed or ticketed
  • Parking meters around Dallas City Hall may be bagged and not available for parking
