Red Bull Coded Cleats Debuts in Dallas TX, Testing Skills on the Pitch and on the Controller

As global excitement around soccer continues to surge ahead of this summer, Red Bull is introducing a bold new twist on the beautiful game. Red Bull Coded Cleats is a first-of-its-kind hybrid competition that merges in-person soccer with digital gameplay, challenging teams to dominate both the pitch and the controller in a single match. Debuting in Dallas this June, Red Bull Coded Cleats blends the fast-paced action on the soccer pitch with EA SPORTS FC, creating a dynamic format where physical skills and gaming skills unfold simultaneously. Red Bull freestyle soccer player, Séan Garnier, will be in attendance and the event will be hosted by Mike LaBelle, Red Bull Athlete and FC pro player, who can’t wait to see hybrid gaming event come to life. “Red Bull Coded Cleats brings together the physical and digital sides of the game in away that’s never been done before—where your skills with the ball and your decision-making on the sticks both equally matter. Most of us who grew up playing soccer, also put in time on the virtual pitch, so bringing those worlds together into one competition just makes sense—and I’m incredibly excited to see the event come to life.”-Mike LaBelle, Red Bull Player Teams of six players compete against another team of the same composition, with four players on a small soccer pitch and two players competing in EA SPORTS FC, on game consoles. Both matches take place at the same time and operate on a unified EASPORTS FC game clock, where at halftime players on the console will have to swap with two players from their team, on the pitch. Goals scored on both the pitch and in the video game count toward the team’s combined total, creating a fast-paced battle where strategy and teamwork determine the winner. At the final whistle, the team with the highest combined score claims victory. The Red Bull Coded Cleats main finals event will take place on June 6, 2026 at AT&T Discovery District in downtown Dallas, bringing the action to one of the city’s premier public gathering spaces. The event is scheduled to kick off at 5pm CT. Qualifier matches will take place the day before on June 5, 2026 at 5:00 PM at City Futsal, where teams will compete for a chance to earn their spot in the final competition. Players 18 years and older interested in competing can register their teams for the Red Bull Coded Cleats Qualifier Tournament through the event website. Participation in the qualifier is limited to the first 24 approved teams, who will compete in a tournament-style format. More details on this can be found on the event website.
