Dianne Baker Field (formerly known as Pioneer Field), the home field for the TWU softball team, is nestled on the north side of the TWU campus just east of the Chancellor's residence .The name of the field was changed in February 2019 by a vote of the TWU Board of Regents upon the University's recommendation to recognize and honor Baker, a TWU Distinguished Alumna. Designed by Baker, the field was completed in 1996 at a cost of $151,500. Pioneer Field was constructed to meet the requirements to host NCAA regional and national tournaments as well as high school playoff games, and has an infield composition of 60 clay/40 sand. In 1999 after a successful campaign spearheaded by TWU softball alumni and supporters, lights were added at a cost of $48,000. In 2001, additional dugout and facility lighting was added.
