Check out Mic Drop, the official podcast of the Dallas Sports Commission
L.A. has its movie stars, Nashville its country troubadours and Detroit is the motor city. In Dallas we do sports… and we do it unlike anywhere in the country. From its iconic teams, state-of-the-art venues, larger than life owners and athletes, to a sports marketing community that is shaping the way sports will be consumed in the 21st century, Dallas is the true Silicon Valley of the sports world. Join hosts Monica Paul and Kevin Sullivan as they pull back the curtain on this vibrant community and talk to the legendary athletes and business visionaries leading a sports marketing revolution. Every show will have something you won't want to miss. Every episode will be a Mic Drop.
When she isn't shattering podcast norms as co-host of Mic Drop, Monica Paul serves as Executive Director of the Dallas Sports Commission. She leads bid strategies and marketing programs that enhance Dallas' ability to lure sporting events to the region. Most recently, She was selected as the DCEO Non-profit and Corporate Citizenship Award Winner in Leadership Excellence in 2023, DCEO's Dallas 500 in 2022, Women in Business honoree by Dallas Business Journal in 2020, in 2015 she was honored as one of Connect Sports' Top IX Women in the Sport Tourism Industry, and by Connect Magazine as one of the "40 Under 40: Class of 2013," for her leadership and innovation in the industry. Working closely with the NCAA, Olympic National Governing Bodies and professional leagues, she has sold Dallas as a marquee location to host various World Cups, WrestleMania, NCAA basketball Final Fours, and a Super Bowl.
Kevin Sullivan keeps the conversation flowing on Mic Drop, but his natural curiosity and gregarious way comes from a career engaging with some of the world's top newsmakers in both sports and politics. He's served as VP of Communications for the Dallas Mavericks, held senior communications roles with NBC Sports and NBC Universal at 30 Rock in New York, and spent 2 ½ years as President George W. Bush's White House Communications Director. He now consults on communications strategy, messaging and coaching with an impressive list of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to professional sports franchises and leagues, high-profile CEOs and major nonprofits. And while his ability to draw interesting interviews from subjects is definitely Mic Drop-worthy… let the record show: his hands are so good, he's never actually dropped a mic.
