DALLAS, TEXAS (October 14, 2020)  --  March Madness returns to Dallas, as the NCAA announced today that the American Airlines Center will play host to the regional round of the 2024 NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship. The games will take place March 29 and 31, 2024, at the American Airlines Center. This marks the first time for North Texas to host a men's basketball regional since 2013 and the first time for the area to be awarded a men's regional, outside of a Final Four bid.  Dallas joins Boston, Detroit and Los Angeles as host cities for the 2024 regionals.

As previously announced, Dallas will host men's first and second round games this March as part of the 2021 NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship.

"We are very excited to host the 2024 regionals," said Dallas Sports Commission Executive Director Monica Paul. "Four universities will come to our city that year with a shot at competing in the Final Four. It's another great opportunity to showcase our city during one of the much-anticipated, and most-watched weekends of the tournament. We look forward to showcasing our city's unique brand of hospitality and leaving a positive economic impact on our community."

Dallas will also host the NCAA Women's Final Four on March 31 and April 2, 2023, with the Division II and III National Championship games also played in the city on April 1, 2023. All games will be held at American Airlines Center, which was the site of the 2017 Women's Final Four.

"The Big 12 and its host organizations have a long, rich history of hosting NCAA championship events," said Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby. "The cities and arenas have been exceptional partners, and we look forward to remaining a part of March Madness in the upcoming years."
